Linton woman arrested on alcohol-related charges

A 25-year-old Linton woman was arrested on alcohol-related charges early Saturday after allegedly drifting across lanes on State Road 54 near Park Road in Linton.

Greene County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Jordan Allor arrested Tyiana Lynn Sisk on Dec. 28 on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated—endangerment and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Allor was traveling west on State Road 54 near Park Road at approximately 12:50 a.m. when he observed a bronze 2016 Fiat 500 in front of him drifting side to side. The Fiat's driver-side tires reportedly crossed into the turn lane.

Allor conducted a traffic stop on State Road 54 near Main Street. During the stop, Allor noted the smell of alcohol on Sisk’s breath. He also reported that Sisk was speaking slowly and struggled to locate her vehicle’s registration.

When asked if she had consumed alcohol, Sisk denied it, according to the affidavit.

Allor conducted a Standardized Field Sobriety Test, which Sisk failed in two portions. Testing was halted during the third portion for safety reasons, the affidavit said.

Sisk provided several insufficient samples during a preliminary breath test. However, a successful reading of 0.169% blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was eventually obtained, more than twice Indiana's legal limit of 0.08%.

Due to Sisk’s difficulty using the breath test instrument, Allor requested a chemical test via a blood draw. Sisk was transported to Greene County General Hospital, where the blood sample was taken. Results are pending.

At the hospital, Sisk reportedly admitted to drinking heavily the night before but claimed she had been at work for three hours before the stop and was driving home.

Sisk was taken to the Greene County Jail, where her bond was set at $4,000 surety with 10% cash allowed. She was released after posting $400 bail.

Sisk is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing on Jan. 9.
