Linton woman arrested on drug charges

An Oct. 13 incident resulted in the arrest of a 42-year-old Linton woman on charges of possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

Linton Police Department Officer Janzen Franklin spoke with Caressa Dawn Robinson regarding allegations occurring at her home while in the Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce parking lot. Franklin then met Robinson at her home to speak further.

While at the residence, according to the probable cause affidavit prepared by Officer Franklin, she waived her rights and allowed officers to search the residence. During a search, a cut straw containing a crystal-like residue was located in Robinson’s bedroom. The residue on the straw later field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Another cut straw containing a crystal-like residence was also located in a kitchen drawer. Robinson alleged the straw found in the bedroom did not belong to her.

Robinson was transported to Greene County Jail where she was held without bond. She will appear in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing on Oct. 17.

She faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
